LUNI LOMBOK

Free Medical Care for Community Cats

The LUNI Lombok team is patrolling daily on the lookout to ensure our community cats are in good health. Besides giving them food and water daily we check if there are injured or sick cats, small kittens or unsterilised cats.

The most common medical issues that we come across and provide treatment for:

Abscesses and wounds, ringworm and scabies, cat flu, panleukopenia, injuries sustained from being hit by horse carts, eye infections, kidney failure, worms and fleas, chicken or fish bones stuck in the mouth/throat, blood parasites, and blocked cats (urethral obstruction).

Support Us

We are extremely thankful for your kind contribution, and even the smallest donation amount counts. This will go a long way towards our efforts to help the island animals with sterilisation, food, free medical treatments, and rescue and rehabilitation.

Our Clinics on Gili Trawangan & Gili Air

LUNI Lombok operates two permanent veterinary clinics: the LUNI Animal Care Clinic on Gili Trawangan and LUNITO Clinic on Gili Air. Both clinics offer free treatment for homeless animals and affordable care for the pets of local residents.

While cats are our main focus, we also provide medical care for a wide range of animals—including pet rabbits, guinea pigs, birds, and even large animals like goats and cows. Whether it’s an island kitten, a backyard bunny, or a village goat, our compassionate team is here to help.

Reaching Further with Pop-Up Clinics

In addition to our permanent clinics, we regularly run pop-up clinics in surrounding areas. These focus primarily on sterilisation through our TNVR (Trap-Neuter-Vaccinate-Return) program, but also provide treatments, surgeries, health check-ups, vaccinations, and parasite control.

We also take these opportunities to offer basic education on animal welfare and responsible pet ownership, because lasting change begins with awareness and kindness.

Our System

At LUNI Lombok, we believe in fairness, transparency, and shared responsibility. Every person who brings a cat to us is required to register it under one of the following categories:

  1. “This is my cat and I will pay for the treatment.”
  2. “I am a local Indonesian who cannot afford the full treatment. My cat is sterilised or I agree to have it sterilised. I will make a donation towards the treatment.”
(Note: If the cat is not yet sterilised or the owner refuses sterilisation, they are required to pay full price.)
  3. “This is a homeless cat and I am willing to pay for the treatment.”
  4. “This is a homeless cat and I can make a donation towards the treatment.”
  5. “This is a homeless cat and I cannot contribute financially.”

This structure helps us allocate our resources responsibly, ensures we can continue offering help to homeless animals, and encourages everyone in the community to play a part in improving animal welfare.

Sterilisation can always be offered for free for all cats — whether owned or homeless — but we do encourage contributions whenever possible to support our ongoing efforts.
