Besides providing food and water, our team checks for injured or sick cats, small kittens, and unsterilised cats during daily feeding rounds across the islands.
Any cat that needs care is brought to one of our two permanent clinics — or treated on the spot. Whether it's a fresh wound, a chronic condition, or an emergency, no cat is turned away.
While cats are our main focus, we also provide medical care for a wide range of animals — including pet rabbits, guinea pigs, birds, and even large animals like goats and cows.
Common conditions we treat
Our licensed vets handle the full range of conditions that affect the Gili Islands' community cats, including:
We operate on two islands.
Both clinics offer free treatment for homeless animals and affordable care for the pets of local residents — not just cats, but rabbits, birds, goats and more.
Our sister clinic in the centre of Gili Air, behind Burrito Project, serving all island animals.
Every day 8am - 6pm for non-vet assistance (Vet Nurse/Staff Available) Mon, Tues, Thu, Fri, Sun 10am – 3pm (with Vet Dr Titi) No Vet: Wednesday and Saturday
Beyond our permanent locations, we regularly run pop-up clinics on all three Gili islands — focusing on sterilisation through our CNVR (Catch-Neuter-Vaccinate-Return) programme, but also offering treatments, surgeries, health checks, vaccinations, and parasite control.
We also take these opportunities to offer basic education on animal welfare and responsible pet ownership, because lasting change begins with awareness and kindness.

How we register every cat.
Every person who brings a cat to LUNI is asked to register it under one of five categories. This helps us allocate resources responsibly and keep care available for those who need it most.
1
"This is my cat and I will pay for treatment."
Owner pays the full cost of treatment.
2
"I'm a local Indonesian who can't afford the full cost."
Cat must be sterilised (or owner agrees to sterilisation). A donation towards treatment is encouraged. If sterilisation is refused, full price applies.
3
"This is a homeless cat and I'm willing to pay."
The finder covers the cost of treatment for a cat that isn't theirs — a generous act that directly saves a life.
4
"This is a homeless cat and I can make a donation."
Any contribution is welcomed and goes directly to care for that cat and others.
5
"This is a homeless cat and I can't contribute financially."
The cat receives care regardless. No animal is turned away because of finances.
Sterilisation is always free — for owned or homeless cats alike. We encourage contributions whenever possible, but no cat is refused sterilisation due to cost.
Free care costs money. Your donation makes it possible.
Every donation, however small, goes towards medicines, surgical supplies, and the salaries of the vets and staff who make free community cat care possible every day.
