Yes, we do! We have a small online shop here.

Thank you! The best way to help Project LUNI is to donate food through PolyPet, buy our merchandise items or make a one-off or regular monetary donation. Please visit our donation page. Every donation goes directly towards helping the Gili Island animals.

Please get in touch with us to discuss – we’d love to hear from you!

LUNI Lombok is a small organisation with limited  resources, including foster carers, so unfortunately we cannot take in more cats that we can handle.  We also like to ensure that all cats live in a home environment, not cages, so foster carers can’t take too many, and we usually don’t have capacity to take care of completely feral cats.

That depends on how many cats/kittens our own fosters have up for adoption. Our priority are the cats and kittens that are currently in the care of  LUNI Lombok.  Please, contact us to check though and keep in mind we only share posts of kittens/cats which are vaccinated, dewormed and, if older than 5-6 months, sterilised.

Street Cats
I’ve seen an animal that needs help. What should I do? Unfortunately we cannot attend to every animal, as much as we’d like to. All the LUNI Lombok team give every spare minute they have, and we don’t have the resources to go searching for every animal, especially as they may have left the area before we arrive. .If you are able to donate towards our trapping, transportation and veterinary work, that would be a great help! Please help the animal yourself if you can, such as providing them with food and drink, or covering them and bringing them to our vet clinic if necessary. If you have found very small kittens, please take them home and keep them warm as even a few hours can make the difference to their survival. You can call us for advice, and we may be able to help find the animal foster care if appropriate. I found an unsterilized street cat, what should I do? If you are able to handle the cat yourself please help us out and take the cat to our vet clinic we work with. If the cat is feral and you are unable to handle it, please contact us for help. We’ll need to know details such as where you saw the cat(s) or kittens, how many there are, whether you feed them regularly etc.

Why don’t you advise taking in feral cats or kittens? If kittens aren’t socialised and handled often between 8-12 weeks they will usually become feral and almost impossible to tame or live happily with people in a home environment, sadly. We also believe that cats who are accustomed to life on the street should not be confined in our homes and forced to be pets. This can create stress for them and a range of behavioral problems which are not pleasant for either the cat or yourself. We therefore try to care for street cats on their streets ,providing them with medical care and food. on the streets with our responsible feeders who feed daily and help with medical problems.

Adopting a Kitten or Cat

That is great! Most of our fosterers take care of the adoption process independently. The pinned adoption post on our Facebook page is always updated with available cats and kittens. Please read our Adoption Information carefully, we can only proceed if you agree with our requirements. Once you have done this and you know which kittens/cats you want to adopt, fill in our our Adoption Enquiry and we will get in touch with you.

Even though cats may seem super independent, they are very social animals. They love getting attention from humans but also a cat buddy or sibling. We promote the adoption of bonded litters in pairs. The kittens can play and learn together and keep each entertained which is a win for you!

If you already have a cat we can help you find their perfect kitten friend. If we have an uneven number of kittens in a litter we prefer you to have another younger cat with which our kitten can play with.

Of course there are exceptions. Some cats prefer to be single household cats and want all the love of their humans for themselves!

Pet Cats

LUNI Lombok cannot take in your cat as we need to help street cats that need our care more. It is very sad if people adopt/buy cats and don’t think of them as a family members forever. If something unforeseen happens and you REALLY cannot keep your cat please try to rehome them via friends or the many cat Facebook groups online.

No, we cannot afford to sterilize your pet cat for free but you can contact us via email or Facebook messenger for cheap low income options.

LUNI Lombok’s vision is that the animals of the Gilli Islands, Lombok, can live happily and healthily in harmony with the community.

Any donation (but please consider a monthly recurring donation) will help us greatly to help the animals through our 5 goals of:

1) Food, water and shelter

2) Sterilisation and vaccination

3) Veterinary care

4) Rescue and rehabilitation

5) Education and support
